We are very excited about our upcoming talk this T We are very excited about our upcoming talk this Thursday on A History of Emmet Road by Thomas Maguire - tour guide at Kilmainham Gaol Museum and previously at 1916 Rebellion Walking Tour. The talk looks at the history of Emmet Road through the institutions, people and events that helped shape it. What began as a small new route connecting Dublin now holds stories of The Victorian Era, The Revolutionary Period 1913-1923, the housing boom of the 30’s, The Spanish Civil War and the Celtic Tiger. People, The Prison, and Pat’s with everything in between. There will be artifacts, maps, rarely seen photographs and many stories that tell the hidden story of this famous road. The presentation starts at 8pm and there will be opportunity for Q&A afterwards.
